Volunteer Opportunity
Sunday, September 28
Showtime: 3pm
Help keep our urban streams clean of debris! Join us at Freedom Park for a Litte Sugar Creek cleanup event. Restore the natural beauty of this urban stream making it a tranquil and productive refuge for park visitors and the numerous wildlife species that call it home.
Meetup at the main parking lot near the Freedom Park playground. Work alongside members of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation and see first-hand how local efforts can make a difference!
Please wear close-toed wading shoes or rubber boots if you plan on retrieving debris from the stream! Waders will be available but are limited. Trash bags, gloves and other collection materials will be provided.
Through films, art, literature, and lived stories, Earthwise invites participants into deeper engagement with both land and legacy. It is a space for those who believe that ecological understanding is not just science—it’s story, memory, movement, and art.
