The Gambrell Center facilities proudly host over 500 events annually ranging from presented concerts, art exhibitions, lectures, symposia, plays, films, and a wide variety of campus and community-sponsored events serving over 60,000 visitors annually.  The two performance spaces boast lovely natural acoustics that make these spaces well suited for both amplified and amplified activities.  To learn more, just visit our FACILITIES page.

Interested in learning more about venue rentals? The process begins by reviewing our rental policies then completing and submitting the venue request form. A Gambrell Center staff member will follow-up to explain next steps. Successful events are typically secured 6-12 months in advance. Theatre venue requests submitted less than 3 months prior will not be considered.  Due to the density of university activities, available dates can be hard to come by so early planning is essential. Thank you for your interest in the Gambrell Center!

The Gambrell Center will consider requests to rent the Sandra Levine Theatre from established local businesses in good standing with Queens.  In order for an event to take place, all agreements must be signed, conditions met, and fees paid in full.

Rental expenses vary depending on the date, type of event, and specific needs (such as staffing, equipment, and duration). To receive a customized quote, please fill out our Digital Venue Request Form.  A schedule of rental fees is available via the download link on this webpage.

As a non-proft educational institution, we’re not able to offer the venue free of charge. However, we do offer nonprofit discounts on rental rates and are happy to discuss how we can support your event within your budget.
